As 100 grandes canções do metal no século XXI segundo a Collectors Room

Inspirado na lista que a Metal Hammer publicou na sua edição de abril de 2021 (leia a matéria completa aqui), mergulhei na minha coleção, nas memórias de anos escutando metal e nas milhares de resenhas publicadas pela Collectors Room desde 2008 (somadas às centenas que publiquei no Whiplash desde 2005) para elaborar uma lista semelhante com as melhores músicas que o metal deu ao mundo no século XXI.

A metodologia foi a mesma adotada pela Metal Hammer: apenas uma música de cada banda, de discos lançados a partir de 2000. Foi uma pesquisa extensa e profunda, com a lista mudando inúmeras vezes até chegar à versão final, que ficou muito diferente da publicada pela revista inglesa.

Muito provavelmente você sentirá falta de alguma canção que marcaram a sua vida e não entenderá a inclusão de algumas faixas, mas listas são assim mesmo, controversas por natureza. Procurei analisar o impacto, a inovação e a importância de cada composição na hora de decidir quais entrariam na lista final. E fiquei bem contente com o resultado, devo admitir.
