O período em que a Aretha Franklyn passou na gravadora Atlantic, e que é considerado uma das melhores épocas de sua carreira e rendeu inúmeros singles de sucesso, é tema de uma nova compilação que a Rhino lançará em setembro.
The Atlantic Singles Collection 1967-1970 estará disponível a partir de 28/09 em CD duplo e LP duplo, sendo que o CD contará com 34 faixas enquanto o LP trará 25 músicas, todas organizadas de forma cronológica. As canções foram lançadas originalmente nos sete álbuns que Aretha gravou para a Atlantic - I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You (1967), Aretha Arrives (1967), Lady Soul (1968), Aretha Now (1968), Soul ’69 (1969), This Girl’s in Love With You (1970) e Spirits in the Dark (1970). A única exceção é a versão para “Border Song”, canção de Elton John que ela regravou e foi lançada como single em 1970 mas foi aparecer apenas no disco Young, Gifted and Black, de 1972.
